Welcome to the Terahertz Characterisation (Boland) group within the Photon Science Institute, and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester.
Our group loves all things terahertz! We are interested not only in terahertz science but also technology. Our research therefore has two key strands: (1) the use of ultrafast terahertz spectroscopy/microscopy for optoelectronic characterisation of advanced functional materials and (2) their application in future technologies, from quantum computing to ultrafast wireless communication and non-destructive imaging.
If you would like to find out more about our group, key research areas, publications and outreach activity, please check out the other website pages and/or contact Dr Jessica Boland (the principal investigator).
